VFR circulation

  • VFR follows ICA 100-12 and the visual corridors AIC.
  • Aircraft departing aerodromes without an ATS unit under the TMA must file a flight plan with the AIS office, contact the APP before taxiing and report the actual departure time.
  • Filing flight plans by radiotelephony is prohibited, except from helidecks in an emergency.

Remarks

  • The TMA is class A between FL145 and FL195 and class C between 3500 FT and FL145.
  • In the real world, the APP has six sectors: sectors 01 to 04 (GND – FL035) are the finals for RWY 10, 28, 17 and 35; 05 and 06 are the northern and southern departure and feeder sectors.
  • The Salvador CTR is a 21 NM circle.
