VFR circulation

  • Flights over the Iguaçu Falls require prior coordination and authorization from Cataratas TWR.
  • Published traffic circuits: SBFI to the NNE, SARI (Cataratas del Iguazú) to the SSW, SGES (Guarani) and Itaipu to the WNW.
  • There is no REA chart published for this TMA.

Remarks

  • The TMA is class A between FL145 and FL195 and class C between 3500 FT and FL145.
  • The TMA lies on the triple border. In the AIP, the Cataratas CTR follows the Brazilian border, next to the Foz 1 and 2 CTRs (Argentina) and the Guarani 1 and 2 CTRs (Paraguay). Coordination follows CIRCEA 100-23.
  • Foz APP operates in Spanish, Portuguese and English. IFR flights need two-way communication with the Cataratas, Foz and Guarani CTR units.
