VFR circulation

  • Flight plans filed by radiotelephony are not accepted.
  • SBME: minimum circuit altitude of 600 FT for helicopters and 1500 FT for aeroplanes.
  • AFIL flight plans are not accepted in the Aldeia ATZ and CTR.
  • Helicopter routes chart: CCV REH WJ1-Cabo Frio
  • There is no REA chart published for this TMA.

Remarks

  • Macaé concentrates offshore helicopter operations in the Campos Basin: several platform heliports are designated "Macaé" in the AIP (GEN 2.4).
  • In the real world, the SBME tower operates from 0915 to 2100 UTC; outside those hours AFIS is provided on 119.200. Runways 05/23 and 06/24 are not used simultaneously, and jets do not use 06/24.
  • The Aldeia 1 and 2 CTRs belong to São Pedro da Aldeia APP (SBES_APP, Aldeia Control). SBES is a Navy base; civil aircraft require authorization from the Naval Air Force Command.
  • SBCP (Campos) and SBFS (São Tomé) lie in class G FIZs, served by the local radio stations.
