Runways
Runway system
SBVT has two runways that do not cross: 02/20 (2058 m), to the east, next to the passenger terminal (apron 1), and 06/24 (1750 m), to the west, next to the old terminal and the cargo terminal (aprons 2 and 3). They come close to each other in the north, near thresholds 20 and 24. The AIP defines no preferential runway.
-
Main:
02/20
2058 × 45 m. RNP and VOR approaches. Serves apron 1 via TWY F.
-
Secondary:
06/24
1750 × 45 m. Has the aerodrome's only ILS, on 24. Serves aprons 2 and 3 via TWY A.
Runway data
| Runway | Dimensions | TORA | LDA | Approach | Remarks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 02 | 2058 × 45 m | 2058 m | 2058 m | RNP and VOR | |
| 20 | 2058 × 45 m | 2058 m | 2058 m | RNP | Turnaround area at threshold 20 |

| 24 | 1750 × 45 m | 1750 m | 1750 m | ILS CAT I | Turnaround area at threshold 24 |
- Backtrack on 02 only up to the threshold 20 turnaround area2.

| SBVT_ATIS | AVT | Vitória Information | 127.575 | |
| SBVT_GND | GVT | Vitória Ground | 121.950 | |

- SBVT has no Clearance (DEL) and no DCL. Ground issues the clearance, or Tower without Ground.
Areas of responsibility
| Position | Responsible for |
|---|---|
| GND | Aprons 1 to 4, TWY A, F, N, D, E and the links up to the holding point |
| TWR | Both runways and the taxiways inside the holding points |
- SBVT has no Apron position: Ground handles all aprons.
- Departures: Ground hands off to Tower before the holding point.
- Arrivals: once the aircraft vacates the runway, Tower hands off to Ground.
- Aircraft crossing 06/24 via C/D, or passing threshold 24 on the way to 20, need a Tower clearance.
Ground flow
General rule
- TWY F runs along the west side of 02/20, from apron 1 to threshold 24. N is the apron 1 taxiway; G and H lead to threshold 02.
- J, K, L and M link F to 02/20. M reaches threshold 20 passing next to threshold 24.
- A runs along the west side of 06/24 and links aprons 2 and 3 to the thresholds; B and C link A to the runway.
- D crosses 06/24 and links the west side to F; E links D to F and K.
- Departures (02): N, F and G (or H) to threshold 02.
- Landings (02): vacate via K and follow F to apron 1. Turboprops may vacate via J.
- Avoid M: vacating via M after landing on 02 interferes with runway 06 operations (HS 7)4.
Example: GLO1234, taxi to holding point runway 02 via N, F, G.
Runway exits
| Runway | Exits |
|---|---|
| 02 | J (~740 m, turboprops), K (~1500 m) or L (~1550 m). Avoid M |
| 20 | J (~1310 m) or G/H at the end of the runway |
| 06 | B (~550 m), C or D (~890 m) or F at the end of the runway |
| 24 | C or D (~860 m) or B (~1200 m) |
Approximate distance from the threshold to the exit, measured on the diagram.
Taxi restrictions
| Restriction | Where |
|---|---|
| Code D prohibited | TWY A and B and aprons 2 and 3 between stands 2 and 132 |
| Code E prohibited | TWY H3 |
| In IMC | Code 4D prohibited on TWY A and on the apron 3 taxiway while a code 3 or 4 aircraft lands or departs on 06/242 |
Hotspots
- HS 3: D × F × J intersection, access to apron 1, with converging taxi flows.
- HS 5: C × D × 06/24 intersection. Complex geometry and frequent runway crossings.
- HS 6: E × F × K intersection. Several taxi flows converge.
- HS 7: M, exit from 02. Landings on 02 vacating via M interfere with 06.
Takeoff points
| Runway | Point | TORA |
|---|---|---|
| 02 | G or H (threshold) | 2058 m |
| 20 | M (threshold) | 2058 m |
| 06 | A (threshold) | 1750 m |
| 24 | F (threshold) | 1750 m |
Aprons and airlines
Reference for simulation. The stands follow the PDC charts; the airlines follow the airport's airline list on Wikipedia. The split between stands is a simplification, not the airport's official allocation. VAs use the stands of the real airline they represent.

- Follow the VAC to join and leave the traffic pattern6.
- Helicopters to offshore platforms: VFR preferably at 2500 ft outbound and 1500 ft inbound (3500 ft from the Macaé TMA); IFR at 5000 ft outbound and 6000 ft inbound6.
