Operations

Aerodrome Regulations

  • The Fernando de Noronha AFIS operates remotely from ACC Recife. Its area of responsibility corresponds to class G ATS airspace.
  • LDG and TKOF OPS of jet-engine (turbojet) ACFT on a wet runway PRB.
  • TFC circuit: fixed-wing ACFT MNM ALT 1300FT; rotary-wing ACFT in SECT S of the AD, MNM ALT 900FT.
  • Night runway lighting AVBL only for MIL or aeromedical aviation, O/R.
  • Private or charter flights must obtain AUTH from the general administration of the archipelago and enter in item 18 of the PLN: RMK/ACFT AUTH OPS SBFN.
  • Specific procedures in case of COM failure:
    • use the RDO FREQ as FCA and set code 7600 on the transponder;
    • fly the IFR IAC only if AD MET INFO is obtained via ACC/AFIS; otherwise, IFR LDG not AUTH;
    • fly the SID only if AD MET INFO is obtained; otherwise, IFR DEP not AUTH;
    • observe the other ICA 100-12 rules for COM failure.

Aprons and Taxiways

  • All scheduled (commercial) aviation ACFT must leave the apron parking positions by pushback.

Runways

  • RWY 12 and 30: last 90 m closed for LDG and TKOF due to the absence of RESA.

Additional Information

  • Due to the OPR characteristics of the AD, crews must be aware of the possibility of spatial disorientation.
  • OBS concentration of birds in the vicinity of RWY 12/30.
